Vidu Q1ntessential Video Contest

I mentioned in another blog that I was participating in a video generation contest and now I'm gonna share the relevant links!

It's a collab between civit.ai and Vidu to use the new video generation model, Q1.

There are a few different categories, and even though the deadline (for category 1 and 2) is coming up quickly, (tomorrow) you can probably scrape by with a single 5 second entry if you really want to take part. Without further ado, here are the 3 categories for the contest!

Category 1

-5 second clip : This one's pretty accessible to everyone at 5 seconds (the default length of a Q1 clip). So far, I have one entry here and I'm about to do another one soon. Just brainstorming!

Category 2

-10-59 sec video : I love this category because it gives you a lot of freedom length-wise. I think at first this category started out at 30 seconds or above but it was changed. I could be wrong, but that's what I think I remember. You can do a lot with this category!

Category 3

-60+ second film : This seems really fun but also daunting, especially with 5 second clips. I personally have only ever made a single video that long so far, but I've not been working with video generation for too long. I'd love to enter this, and maybe I'll get inspired.

Thankfully the deadline for this one is a bit more forgiving. Submissions for Category 3 are open until June 10, 2025, at 23:59 CST. If you wanna enter this one, you better get cookin'.
